Turmeric Specifications: Targets, Tests and Lot Evidence
A turmeric specification sets the requirements a buyer and supplier plan to use. It does not prove that a particular batch meets them. For a bulk order, keep the agreed target and the actual lot report side by side.
What belongs in a specification?
Start with the product form and intended culinary use. Add the parameters relevant to that form, such as moisture, physical size, cleanliness, curcuminoid reporting basis and any safety limits required by the buyer or destination. State the test method, units and whether a result is reported on an as-received or dry basis.
What does a lot report show?
A lot report identifies the sampled batch and its measured results. Ask how the sample was taken, when testing happened, which laboratory and methods were used, and whether the report covers the finished goods offered for dispatch. A catalogue description or earlier sample cannot stand in for a final-lot result.
Before confirming an order
- Agree on the product and destination-specific requirements.
- Confirm the proposed packing and quantity.
- Review the actual lot and applicable test evidence.
- Resolve missing or conflicting requirements in writing.
